The Wizard Naismith over there on the left is an
Elder Lord of Skoog with a passion for
sculpting miniature figures. He was
designed and sculpted by Bob Naismith for
Newbold World and painted for us by Chris
Yaro.
Ian Newbold has a passion for all types
of painted miniatures and you will see many
fine examples of the ones he particularly
likes in our galleries. Some of these
miniatures were commissioned specifically
for Newbold World but many were created by
other people for other purposes.
The Newbold World Miniatures are sculpted in greenstuff
and cast in pewter. They are sculpted in
1/55 scale and their heights vary from 25mm
to 48mm depending on the subject they are
depicting. All the subjects are
personalities and characters from our Skoog
Setting. Unpainted versions of a selection
of our miniatures are usually on sale in
our Charity Shoppe and
any income they generate is donated to
charity as part of the Newbold Challenge
Some of the miniatures
in our range (like The Wizard Naismith) are
particularly suitable for people who like
to paint unusual figures for their display
cases while others (such as our Azurian and
Grak Spacefarers) may well be of interest
to people who lke to create their own
unusual wargaming armies.
