1. The Pinchuk are a cold blooded species
and have a natural lifespan of around 500
years.
2. They have a
tough chitinous-like skin which is most
often black, grey or violet in colour
although other colours do occur.
3. They are a
fairly hardy species and can withstand
extremes of cold weather without any
noticeable discomfort. They are not prone
to disease with the exception of some kind
of glandular ailment which strikes roughly
half each generation around the age of 100
and usually proves fatal. If they escape
this disease they general stay very fit and
active right into extreme old age.
4. They are not
a particularly numerous species as they
only breed once in their normal lifespan at
around the age of 50. They produce a small
proportion of magic users (fantasy
settings) and psi adepts (sci-fi setting)
most of whom are exremely talented and
extremely powerful. They also produce very
gifted artists, scientists, medics and
engineers.
5. There are two
main sub-species the Pin and the Chuk.
6. The Pin are
are quite tall and thin ascetic looking
beings with oval heads and hooked noses.
Their skulls have small bone like
protusions that provide some clue as to
their gender and age. They are much rarer
than the Chuk but but are the predominant
sub-species providing the rulers, magic
users, artists, scientists, medics and
engineers.
7. The Chuk are
a little shorter and more powerfully built
than the Pin and their features are much
flatter. They provide most of the warriors
and workers in Pinchuk society.
